Introduction to Buckazoid (bz) from Space Quest - now on Solana
Buckazoid was minted on Xenon and bridged to Solana in April 2025. Evidence based inquiry into false narratives in Crypto.
Introduction to Buckazoid (bz) from Space Quest / Now on the Solana Blockchain:
As someone that grew up on computers from an early age and played ALL of the Sierra "Quest" Games, (Kings, Police, Colonel's, QFG, & Space Quest!) the existence of the Buckazoid in game-currency was not a new discovery to me, nor was it a foreign or particularly strange concept that it has a ₿ symbol on the coin, having spent them myself in Space Quest.
But more astutely, because I (like the poster below) do not think it really takes much human imagination at all for someone to take the S in the $ dollar sign and simply "change it to a different letter" when working on a new video game currency. Do you? Is it mind bending?
Now, could it be?.... Sure, anything is possible and I am very open to it (with real evidence), but injecting a dose of logic into the extremes of narrative management and falsities that are permeating the online Buckazoid crypto communities is HEALTHY and LONG OVERDUE and will ensure the longevity of the Buckazoid (bz) coin without tainting the important existing legacies of Bitcoin and Buckazoid separately with genetic fallacies and nonsensical speculation.
"The genetic fallacy is a fallacy of irrelevance in which arguments or information are dismissed or validated based solely on their source of origin rather than their content. In other words, a claim is ignored or given credibility based on its source rather than the claim itself."
The very large claim that has been developed almost reflexively over the last month seems to be rather than this just being a cool "coincidence" and a fun meme, this must now 100% mean Buckazoid predicted Bitcoin or members of Sierra Games created Bitcoin (sometimes with Hal Finney who never worked there and sometimes without) and as of late the narrative pushers have claimed that:
"The Buckazoids prophecy is real. The entire crypto space EXISTS because of Buckazoids"
(X post name redacted, April 10, 2025)
oof. And this is why we can't have nice things.
Cryptocurrencies or meme coins of this type paying homage to an existing pop culture phenomena can and do often thrive or fail on their provenance, their accuracy (like not having the correct image, or creating a coin with a generic futuristic bitcoin logo instead of an actual Buckazoid, or minting the coin with the wrong ticker or tense) and a projects ability to sustain itself over time is often tied to these principles:
Integrity, Honesty, and Accountability.
Making HUGE claims always puts the burden on the claimant and these claims need to hold water.
While I am in possession of and will be sharing in the coming days, an archive of actual evidence of prominent and even some notorious members and holders of the early bitcoin communities online having been fans of Sierra Games and exploring the role that gaming culture and Space Quest played on our current landscape, I will also be thoroughly examining the extremely shaky and comical narratives about Hal Finney, Satoshi, & random Sierra Games employees (who weren't cryptographers on the skill level to create bitcoin, nor EVER worked on Space Quest and therefore did not create Buckazoid etc.) and the impact of these "whatever works" sloppy narratives that in a post-truth world are damaging to the History of Bitcoin and Space Quest and also dive into the "why" and "what" makes people vulnerable to false and often ridiculous narratives generally.
When I first encountered the recent claims about the ₿ on the Buckazoid and the logical leapfrog used to build lore around it, I did what anyone who does research for a living would do, examine the claims directly and I reached out the worlds foremost expert on Space Quest -- THE SPACE QUEST HISTORIAN.
He has interviewed the creators of the game on numerous occasions and has sat on panels with the Sierra Games crew at public events. He really, really knows his stuff and as we are close in age, we have a very similar history and introduction to Space Quest.
Here is his take: (you can find him @ http://spacequesthistorian.com)
If you react negatively to this information, it's okay.
Learning to question your assumptions and narratives people are selling you for a quick buck is a good thing. His opinion isn't the end all be all, but for me it carries a great deal of weight and is among my considerations when deciding how I am going to lay out my research going forward and to show how Buckazoid needs to stand on it's own and not rely on pump and dump strategies and fake lore creation of lesser quality coins.
Have I peaked your interest? Don't be sad, this is just the beginning of the presentation and investigation and there is a lot of meat on the bone before final conclusions can be made.
I think we all have one thing in common, We Love Space Quest and the Buckazoid and it's potential as the future currency for the Galaxy and beyond!
Stay tuned!
If you can't laugh at yourself in crypto, you're doing it wrong.😂 Memes are supposed to be funny!
Welcome to Buckazoid!
The correct ticker and abbreviation is still (bz).
